Hi, Bill here. My first purchase from SimMarket and the Tahiti scenery won't show up in FSX-SE.
I use mostly Orbx/FTX products:Global/Vector et al.
The install did not go smoothly but after an hour of so and Program Not Responding message it said it installed correctly
When I go to register, using the Serial/Reg key sent me and in My Account, it says it's incorrect
What up?

That didn't work. Ran the new tool application and got an O.K. on registering
Upon opening FSX-SE got scenery.cfg ERRORS on three files in flightscene\society_islands_imagery\SCENERY
178; 179 and 180
After running the new tool the computer was rebooted
The above file path does not even show in my system
What to do next? Uninstall? Reinstall?

P.S. The last file listed in my FSX scenery.cfg File is #120

There was a problem with that version of the installer when installing to FSX steam edition.

If you have ONLY fsx steam installed and not the original FSX version, then start the main installer and install into the original FSX version (It will still install into the steam edition).

If you have BOTH fsx-steam and original FSX installed then:

1. Uninstall the scenery with the config tool.
2. Run the main installer again (the one from the Society Islands zip file NOT the config tool).
3. When the config and installation tool opens up, click on exit.
4. Replace the config tool under c:\flightscene\tools with the one I sent you in an earlier email.
5. Run the config tool and Install the scenery into FSX steam edition.

I will be uploading a new installer to Simmarket shortly, to fix the FSX-steam issue.

Thanks for that. FSX-SE no longer requires their version to run only through Steam and there is a full-installation FSX icon on the desktop.
This is a full blown version of FSX which runs separately from Steam and should work with the procedure you outlined
I understand to use the new (updated) version of the flightscene config tool only
I have the full FSX Deluxe Version CD which was bought the first day it was released in Canada, October 6, 2006
I'll start with the uninstall and go from there

P.S. My new computer is less than two years old and has several hundred dollar$ in FSX addons so I use extreme caution when working around in its files and folders.

My bad. The first screen during the flightcene_tool uninstall process asked if I wanted to delete a couple of files and I clicked the YES (to uninstall, yes?)
Seems one was animan.exe and a I can't remember the other one
Afterward the new install (with the new config_tool) went smooth but no airport buildings in any Tahiti airport
Mesh looks good though; starting to look like Tahiti and the original (Global/Vector) is not showing
I searched the web for an animan.exe but no joy
Do you have a fix for this?

P.S. That's the Default B58 repainted to Jacques Brel's D50 'JoJo'

Start a flight at Tahiti Faaa in FSX. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to start the task manager. Go to the process tab. Do you see animan.exe in the list? If not, then there is probably an error in either your DLL.XML or EXE.XML file. In that case, email these files to support@flightscene.net:

dll.xml
exe.xml
fsx.cfg

You can find these files by clicking on your windows button on the bottom left and typing:

For FSX:

%appdata%/Microsoft/fsx

For FSX Steam edition:

%appdata%/Microsoft/fsx-se

then press ENTER

Your updated exe.xml file got the buildings, trees and animations to show up
It is a marvelous product visually and very easy on framerates
